Is this one officially known as a Duchess-Escort?

Very Cool Knife!!  A real slim beauty in Stainless Steel.

Hi Chako,

Smooth looks nice!

Do you know the source of the name?  Do you have a Victorinox model number for it?

I only know the information found on SAKWiki. Both of my dogbones have the blades stamped Abercrombie & Fitch. I do know they are rare and hard to get.

Ya, tell me about it.  Took a fair time to find ones in good condition that were not priced through the roof.  Mine do not have any blade etching. I got lucky though.  2010 has just been a bonus year for SAKs.

I heard the dogbones might have been designed for people with arthritis, to allow for easier opening.  They just seem like they are just for anyone that does not like using their nails (or have no nails).  Several people tell me a SAK is hard to open... not for me.

I think it is a great shape, it is a shame they stopped production years ago. They are sexy little knives.

Rest is not idleness,
and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer's day,
listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky,
is by no means a waste of time
