I've been a little hard on some of my LM comments lately but I think I owe that in part to their ST300. They come out with this perfect multitool, then I expect everything else they do to measure up to that particular set of standards... But in reality, they do produce more than one product. I just hope they don't mess up the ST300

I know it sounds silly but I would probably go with the micra. It's small, light, simple and just works. I have a Blast bit it sticks out on the belt.

Surge. Without question. Carried one EDC for years. If I was told I could only own one multi and it had to be a Leatherman, then I'd say Surge without hesitation. In fact if the question was opened up to any brand, then the almighty Surge would be the only real competition for the Swisstool. And to be honest, as much as I love the Swisstool beyond any other multi, when it comes down to it and I had to go the rest of my life with one multi, I'd probably still vote SURGE for it's versatility and expandability having the bit drivers.

So tempted to order a black oxide Surge for $74, but I keep getting that nagging feeling when about to place the order, "wait".

Would gladly give $50 for a new Surge, and hoping when someone lets the MUTs loose that prices will drop on the Surge.

I don't know about other ones, I have only the charge ti using for years now and don't needs to try the others.
I am an leatherman user and not an leatherman collector, so I can only use the only one I have and that's the best
one I think.

The blast is a fantastic tool. I carried one for two years and it handled everything I needed it to handle. The wave is overrated at best. I think they are ok, but the what the bit drivers gain in versatility is limited by their reach, A short stubby bit does no good. Don't get me wrong, I like the wave, but to me a tool with dedicated drivers is a better EDC tool. I carry a pulse now, and I really haven't looked back since getting it.

Like it was said before, one for an desert island would be different than one for regular life. I'd say a Micra for everyday, because I carry it every day. Sometimes a full size takes it's place, but that's usually when I know I'm going to need it (working around the house/yard, ect). If I was on a desert island, probably my core.
