Homemade keyring prybar
on: August 24, 2010, 10:30:08 PM
I've been wanting to get one of those little prybars like CountyComm sells, but between the shipping costs and just being forgetful I never got one.  Today I was scrounging in the toolbox and found a small Vaughn prybar about 7" long and 1/2" wide.  I never used the thing and IIRC paid about 4.00 for it awhile back.  Anyway, I got a wild hair and cut it to 3 11/16", rounded the butt end, drilled a hole in same, sanded, polished, and used a little cold bluing solution on it.  The finished prybar is 3 5/8" (a little shorter than the wife's Honda key).  It is US made and weighs 0.6 oz.  If I can figure out how to do it, I'll post a picture someday.  Overall, I'm pleased with it.

Those are nice little pry bars i have been makeing them for a while. I have been using Dasco Pro pry bars they look just like the mini Vaughn prybars i found them at Sears for 3.00.

I think Alcohol, Tabacco and Firearms should be a convenience store, not a government agency.
