Future M.T.O watch projects,
on: August 25, 2010, 10:17:31 PM
Ok ive got a few ideas for projects and im open to any others, as ive said please pm me if you fancy a one off of some sort i can get most parts,

ok after the deepsea project ZA2 is done im doing a little one off of my own, ive been a admirer of the rolex milsub for many years and i want to do a nice homage, ive got most things sorted and it will be the later model with a crown guard, possibly sword hands but might be merc hands like the other recent watches, it will have a domed plexi and a polished case back with engraving
                                                         ^
                                                      M.T.O
                                                    ZA.S.E.1-5
MEand year 2010 Special edition. 1 of 5  above the M.T.O possible a crows foot

no date, lugs with holes for easy spring bar removal, these case cost more as do the parts, it will have the same ST-16 movement as the others, i will also age the dials and hands, unless asked otherwise, these will be around £80, the dials will be sterile ,

the real thing,

sword hands,

with explorer dials,

im also working on a russian canteen style divers watch and i hope to have pics next week , again many thanks to Def for all his support on these projects,

Sign me up for this one as well. Speaking of which, when do you need the funds for the second series? I can send it to you now or later. The sword hands would be fantastic.

A little Leatherman information.

Just curious, aren't the first 3 projects quite similar?

I'm not a knowledgable watch person so don't stone me if this is a silly question!

yes there all rolex homages, based on there styles, but without the £££££££££££ price tags but just as cool  ;) i can do panaria style watches and other styles but these cost a lot more to build , im trying to keep these builds to a price most can afford as we all have other things to collect  ;)  but im open to ideas im just a pm away  :D  :tu:

ok so far sourced the parts to do it this way , sword hands to fit the st stem not so easy and im after the bezel insert with all markers .plus the case has the eylets on the sides of the case , i might drill them wider and have proper fixed bars ,

ok will have aged yellowed markers and hand lume, faded bezel insert, plexi aged, but i can do what you guys want ie as new like first made  :tu:

I'm not very learned in the watch world....can you help me out?
st stem?
eylets?
hand lume?
plexi aged? :ahhh

lol, what parts are we talking about?  Also, you talk about doing the plexi however we want, but can you possibly post examples of the "aged" and the "new" side by side so I can see the difference?  thanks!

st stem? ST-16 its the model of the movement i use,
eylets? the holes on the sides of the luges where the stap spring bars goes between, you can push through the holes to release the srtap,
hand lume? the glow of the hands and markers for seeing at night,
plexi aged? plexi, acrylic (plastic) crystal (glass) aged, slightly rubbed as in years of wear, or not  :tu:

st-16

eyelets, holes on the sides,

not a good pic of the lume on this but you get the idea ,ZA2 model

ill try and get a aged plexi pic  :tu:

here is some info on the rolex milsub

http://time-square-info.blogspot.com/2009/03/rolex-milsub.html

http://rolex.watchprosite.com/show-nblog.post/ti-503131/

TBH even the most aged of watches seen to have had the plexis buffed up so i might leave the crystals as they are and ley you guys age them naturally

here is a good place to see aged dials  :tu:
