Since I'm from Halifax where Grant is, his suggestions of poutine and donairs are up there on my list too... unfortunately they just don't exist over here in Spain.
However, in the north a popular thing is pinchos which is finger food of various types (fish/meat/veggie hot and cold)... so they have something for all tastes:
also LOVE Chuleton de Buey... which is a big hunk of beef steak, cooked traditionally on an open fire... generally you order a couple to share among several people... looks a lot like this:
I also love things like Lasagna, New England Clam Chowder, Perogies and pretty much any type of BBQ meat. I could go on, but I think it'll just make us all hungrier, evne though I just ate lunch lol.
