Over here they tend to use rubber gloves more often than anything else, and there's quite an industry for puncture proof latex manufacturers. I use a brand called Nighthawks that are virtually impenetrable and chemical resistant, but aren't cheap. Tongs would make so much more sense!Reminds me of the NASA pen story about how the Americans spent untold millions of dollars developing a pen for space travel while the Russians simply used a pencil! You wouldn't happen to have a picture or any information on those tongs, would you?DefThey referred to as AMPEL Probes I think thats the company name I don't have any pictures but basically they look like surgical forceps they are polycarbonate and about 12 inches long

(Image removed from quote.)They look like giant clothes pegs! ;DIs there a special method of carry? They look rather big and clumsy?Def
That is exactly what I am issued with they are generally kept within the vehicle but they are not to bulky that they can't be kept in the inside pocket of the issue fleece .With a bit of practise they can be used to search the tightest of pockets etc it is worth the effort and prevents a lot of needle sticks if your client base are prone to using iv drugs .The big plus for the bean counters is that they are re-usable and a damn site cheaper than issueing countless pairs of needle resistant gloves and if a cop /security guard gets a needle stick they can stand back and say WHY DIDN'T YOU USE THE SAFETY EQUIPMENT WE ISSUED

I bet if you put one of those up the suspect's kilt you'd get all the info you needed in a hurry! Def
Unfortunately those big softies in European Court Of Human Rights reckon that sort of stuff is classed as torture I can't even have a shot of :pok:and no :twak:eitherThey certainly have taken all the fun out of my job
You have a deal
What they need to come up with (and it's the same here) is a SUB-Human Rights Committee... and a Lefts Committee and an Uppercuts Committee, and have everyone on the committees either be blind or former victims of violent, sexual, gang or drug related offenses. Then we'd clean up the streets pretty darned quick!Def
