Leatherman Charge XTI Assembly Diagram
on: December 08, 2023, 07:17:44 AM
Hi, new member on here. I'm looking for an assembly diagram or exploded view of the Leatherman Charge XTI (c2004), in particular the washer positions as I believe I may be missing a couple due to damage. If anyone has one or some photos they took when doing a disassembly/reassembly it would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You could try Youtube. There are seome great videos for the Wave I know of. They may give you a hint on some problems you face.

Thanks all for the warm welcome and advice.
So I've counted up and I have 4 copper washers which I believe are all there, but there is only one washer that has a little indent on both sides and it is this one which I thought there should be two of? That could be all of them, but just want to make sure before I do the reassembly.

SteveC - I believe it could be missing a washer between the bit driver and small bit driver or the bit driver and the bottle/can opener.

Ponch065 - that would be great if you could, much appreciated.

There should be 2 of the small washers at least :salute:

A small washer (probably with indents) are between both of the bit drivers (large and small) and one between the can opener and other large bit driver  the copper washers probably go on each side of the tools :salute:

Also, are you needing to know about the bigger washers that go on the long tools (knives, file and saw tools) ?

Thanks Poncho65, that's a great help, all good on the long tools thanks.
Would be great if Leatherman published the assembly diagrams that you see in the background on some of their videos, especially of the retired models!

I think the last thing Leatherman want to do is give people more confidence to take their tools apart.

For every happy customer who has successfully reassembled a tool after cleaning or modification, there will probably be three or four failures leading to a warranty claim.

Hope you’re in the “happy customer” category thanks to the advice you get here on the forum  :tu:
