Where to get Vic CT bit drivers?
on: September 05, 2010, 01:26:04 PM
What size are the bits on the CyberTool? I guess it's not technically diameter when they're not round, but you get what I mean. I got a kit of 4mm microbits and was curious if they'd fit

Sakwiki said 4mm :D

SO, does anyone know if there's any place to get these drivers on their own?

If anyone in Norway reads this, this should then be an awesome bit kit for your CyberTool

The Vic spares kit contains a selection of the standard CT bits.  If you can find a shop which sells Vic spare parts (pens, tweezers and so on), there's a good chance they'll have the bits too.  Ask for a rummage.

The non-standard CT bits, such as the (extremely useful) 2mm and 2.5mm hex drivers are much harder to find in the high-street.  For these you'll most likely need to put in an order directly with Victorinox.  They cost me CHF2.50 each.

Sadly Vic doesn't make a 3mm Hex driver at all.

Try the cat man. He found me two odd bits for a Cybertool in the past :)
I used to come here a lot.

That's a very good price, best I've seen by a long way.  Was there any shipping on top?
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

Actually I was referring to the bit drivers themself, not the bits. I thought perhaps some of the Vic modders here had a secret source to get all the individual tools, or if you all just get them from taking tools apart

Sadly Victorinox doesn't sell the tools separately.  Best source is a used CT29 off ebay.  I may and I mean may have a spare.

That's OK, I only needed the driver. I'm going to a hardware store tomorrow to see if they have something I can use. I have quite a few ideas on how I might make one myself. It's for a Leatherman anyways  :ahhh

If you can't find anything for around 20 NOK give me a shout as I have a handless non-Swiss 4mm driver sat here doing nothing.

I definitely can't find something for that price, then again you can't get a carton of milk for that price (well, you can get a small one) xD Welcome to Norway, sorry about your wallet  :ahhh

Sorry for the pictures, camera is elsewhere.  Its around 38mm long and 7mm diameter at the widest.  Will that work?

That would in fact be perfect. My plan is to somehow make the convertor tube I've drawn here:
http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,22499.0.html

Since I have a microbit kit and would like to be able to use the Squirt for it.

My plan is to go down to the hardware store tomorrow and see if they have these things in 4mm sizes (no idea what they're called in English):
