Grand Canyon

Is there anyone that might have some pictures of the grand canyon close-up? Just curious thinking about taking a sight-seeing trip eventually.

I went there two years ago, with pictures, but it was filled with Chinese tourists (we were on a Chinese tour!) and I'm not sure where they're stored right now... XD

It is one of the things me and the mrs were wanting to see.  I was thinking of Mount Rushmore, then a factory tour of Buck Knives, then a factory tour of Leatherman tools, then the Redwood Forest and finally the Grand Canyon.  It may only be a pipe dream but a guy can dream can't he.

Here's a few from Lee's Ferry, which is on the edge of the park, and from the less-visited north side of the canyon.

No problem.  I'd like to go back some time and ride a donkey to the bottom :P  We ended up going because it was one of those things that Americans are seemingly required by law to visit at least once.  We did Washington DC, Yosemite, and Niagara Falls as well, need to hit Rushmore and Yellowstone.

I hope to be able to take  a sight seeing tour to these places before too much longer.  Probably take two weeks off or so and do it all by car.  Been a while since we traveled that far but we used to do that all the time when I was in the Air Force.

Car is definitely the way to do it.  The 'second date' that my wife and I went on was driving for a week to the west starting from Oklahoma.  Our presupposed goal was to see the Grand Canyon, but we never got there as we got distracted and sidetracked by all the oddities along the way, and ended up sidetracked into Colorado.  We finally made it to the Canyon on our second try on the way to California :)

My old pics are also on another puter hidden away at the moment - sorry!

However, I highly recommend going there. It is definitely on my list of things I'm glad I have done  :tu:

I got the sunrise and sunset tables the night I arrived and then got up at O'dark hundred to watch the sunrise. Seeing the canyon slowly revealed by the sun was truly an awesome sight :)

If you're in the area, drive to Sedona too - fun place.
