#2 is actually worth it. It's a marvel of engineering 
Another one to check out along these lines is the Marie-Antoinette by Breguet  (the most complicated watch in the world)

#1 is just a pile of diamond and a battery. not worth a 1/10th of the tag price. absolutely ridiculous. You could use a £5 watch movement and glue it on the crown jewels and say it is the most expensive watch in the world...    utterly useless.

They are worth whatever people care to pay for them

I prefer less complex looking watches with fairly sterile dials, so I guess even if I could afford them, on the whole I wouldn't want one!

Amazing machines though....

I'm simple; would rather have the $11M that someone paid for the best looking watch there, then go buy some things that are more important -- like a real house!
