Hey all, I have a mint/new 4sevens Preon 2 warm white with extra 1 cell body (so you can assemble a preon 1 with clicky) available.

I have only tested it briefly around the house. Have too many nice AAA lights so this one is available. Body is black.

It is the limited run warm white edition and includes the standard green packaging etc.

Hi Sean warm white in essence gives better color rendition put simply it'll show colors more vivid than say cool white  




[edit] think of a tungsten light bulb or incandescent flashlight or even our sun, a warm white led will try to mimic this

Indoors, yes; outdoors, no.  I don't think I would use a Preon outdoors as much as in.

I prefer a neutral EDC.

Actually, that's a neutral tint Quark....  

Warm is even closer to an incan tint.

No , it's not a fact,    at least not for everyone.   I'm colorblind  and prefer the  brighter  white.

Of course there is colour blind and then there is colourblind.  Different indivduals can/can't see different wavelengths.  That's true even amongst non-colour blind individuals as well.

Neil's vaguely related factoid for the day... Its possible that due to mutation some women might have (and make use of) four different colour receptors in their eyes instead of the usual three.

Being the geek/geneticist that I am, I read it and pondered it a while....

If "Madam Tetrachromat" had the ability to make use of the extra set of photopigments fully in neurological  terms, perhaps that would have been an evolutionary advantage. Being able to detect dangers that were not discernible to others such as the colour of food stuffs for instance, might have been an extra survival mechanism. However, as it is not exactly a mutation and more an example of X chromosome inactivation going wrong, I'm not sure how this advantage could have been an evolutionary one, which would have ensured it's persistence in the gene pool (like sickle cell in Malaria ridden regions).... I've just talked myself round in a circle I think 

Anyhoo, they stated that there could not be a male with this unique ability due to not having two X's, but what about syndromes such as Kleinfelter's Syndrome where men have XXY chromosomes? Perhaps it would be possible to activate both sets of the gene in this case and create a tetrachromatic male.

It's certainly raises interesting possibilities regarding potential gene therapy for colour blindness though

Oh, and BTW, women can also be colour blind albeit far rarer. My ex was, but then she was also an utterly odious troll, sadly not so so rare

Yes I can access super glue for skin so if you feel you need more  say like fifteen fingers I can accommodate,Note! they may not all match color wise/texture

I guess that would be okay, but I kinda want a colour match.  It's hard to use them if they don't match.  Can I send you a skin sample and perhaps you can try to match it?
