Victorinox Swisstool Spirit Plus Multi-Tool Pics
on: September 18, 2007, 03:21:19 AM
Any 1 have a pic of how they use the Victorinox Swisstool Spirit Plus Multi-Tool? Are they attached to the multi tool or are they a 2nd tool that folds into the same case?
It looks really hard to use if it’s just a tool you would use on its own.
But I need a longer screwdriver than the 1 that came on my LM Wave.

Are you meaning the bent wrench tool? (pictured below) Or the ratchet tool? (not shown)

Neither one attach to the Spirit itself. They are seperate tools for driving 1/4" hex bits.

In order to be certain of having the right tool for every job.........one must first acquire a lot of tools

Yeah, the bent wrench works pretty good. (Think of it like an allen wrench, that you can put different bits into.)

The ratchet is a seperate (but also cool!) device. Thats it on the right, below.

Standard bits.  Leatherman is the only one who is special enough to warrant their own! :P

Wow that’s good to hear about the standard bits I lose a lot of tools. I would hate to have to keep ordering them the shipping a lone would be a pain. The only thing I am worried about is if I get the ST   S+MT if I would have enough leverage when screwing VS having the whole leather man to screw stuff with

So my demise is
Get the STS+MT pkg
Pros    Uses standard bits
Will have a small tool for tight spaces
Has a ratchet option (not sure how it works though)
Con    Worried about not having any leverage to screw stuff & I love screwing!

Add to the LMWave & get the Bit set & that extender that’s $12
Pros    I will have some leverage when screwing
Cons    I lose bits all the time & that’s going to get expensive
Won’t have a tool for small spaces.

"When in doubt, buy both!" are definately words to live by... sorta like "Never date a woman with large hands..."
If you took all the intestines out of your body and stretched them end to end... you would die.

Question about the ratchet - do the bits fit in both the ratchet hole & the handle end like the Plus tool?

Yes indeed they do. Only thing is, with the bit in the handle end, you aren't able to get any leverage to twist the screw. Best solution then is to take the little extension piece, stick it into the ratchet hole, and then twist on the screw. It's not elegent, but it works.
