HK just came back from a worky thing with a swag (I've eaten the nice bits :D)

This little trolley key was with it.... cheap but cute :)

That's a nice one! I have never seen such a useful one before. The ones I get are usually just plastic or metal discs in Euro coin size. This is almost a multitool  :tu:

I think it is, albeit a very cheap one! Two spanners, bottle opener and two sizes of trolley key - what more could you ask of a freebie? :D

I use a key to open trolleys here which is just a fish can key squeezed and shaped to the exact width of a £1. You can wiggle it in and out so not leave it in the trolley.... most useful :)

Here's a VERY old pic of my keys with it on:

I just won this http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,22728.0.html

Some of our shopping carts here use a quarter so maybe this will work.  Don't know but excited anyway to put it on my keyring.

Neat tool, I like the concept, even if my rage at supermarkets would prevent me from using it (most supermarkets around here, in addition to the trolley locks, and occasionally alarms to stop you from leaving the carpark (a  real Colorful Enunciation if you park down the street or next door etc), have "upgraded" to self serve counters.

I'm not sure that I'm really getting the same level of service I used to when some other sap scanned and bagged my items, and they had a trolley collection dude.

With that in mind, in addition to letting the kids eat all the grapes and strawberries they can get their hands on in the store, my trolley key looks a bit like this (mine's orange though)

The trolley key is from a company called Eco Incentives who make environmentally sound promotional items.

This particular key was manufactured from recycled steel for a Swedish company (I think it was Swedish - it was a long day and I may have stopped listening to details!)

For those of you who work in industries in Europe that need to purchase promotional items (ie you can't go and buy one!), Eco Incentives can make these to any specification and had several other designs.

Mods - I hope this isn't breaking any rules. I have no affiliation to this company. I just thought that I should give them a plug since their item is now posted on t'interwebs. Feel free to delete everything except the bit about recycled steel  :)
