EDCSource autoposting

So the EDCS automatic posting is back? While I think it is great in theory, I think it needs it's own forum. It's clogging up the Deals and Auctions forum. If there was a way for each new post to go into a single thread that would work too. Anybody else agree?

I totally agree with you. It is clogging up my recent unread posts.  If there is no way to put them into one thread than at least just have the title of the item, not all the details.

I've asked about putting into one thread. Apparently that's a little tricky (not impossible) to implement with the current software.

"Spam" is unsolicited advertising.  I'm pretty certain that since EDCSource and Multitool.org are both my sites that we can be assured that I have permission to promote one on the other.

Yet, it would be nice if we could turn that feature off on a per-user basis, or if all EDCS posts went into a separate "EDCS Auctions" sub-forum under "Auctions and Deals" (e.g. a la SOSAK under "The Secret Order...").

Why not just simply log in, click on the "Deals and auctions" sub-forum first, have a scan to see if anything is of interest and then if not mark all as read and then click "show unread posts since last visit"?

This takes seconds guys as you just may see a bargain whilst you are there.

That's exactly what I'm doing now but it doesn't make things much better as the EDCS auto posts tend to bury non-EDCS ones in the D&A sub-forum page...

You don't HAVE to do anything, the threads are there to flag up anything you may be interested in.

I think he means he'd rather BUY something than bid on something... and I totally agree, when I use ebay I completely filter out auctions and only view" buy it now" items because I go there to buy stuff not maybe perhaps buy something for price X in 6 days 12 hours 2 minutes

 Auctions don't appeal to me, that's all. It's nice to look at the stuff, though.
