Back from vacay - updated: added pics
on: October 04, 2010, 03:36:43 AM
Just got home from my vacation to Colorado a couple hours ago. It was AMAZING. Easily the most enjoyable trip I've ever been on. Though I've visited the same place several times before, this was by far the best experience. Everything just went so well, and we had so much fun. Spent most of our time visiting the nearby state parks, taking tons of pics and doing some hiking - though not as much as we would have liked, altitude was killin' us, especially my GF who had never been there before. We did some exploring of the area, she took a look at the college, we got some better ideas of the housing/renting situation there, I worked on my cousin's project car a bit which he had tuned way the Hell wrong lol, and just generally had a blast. We went there with practically zero plans for what to do, and were able to fill pretty much every waking moment with great times: exactly the way a vacation should be done  :tu:

Between the two cameras (My GF's new Canon SX20is and her old 6mp POS shes had for years) we took probably close to 600 pics. I went through and made an album of just over 100 to share with people. The ones below are a few of my favorite examples. Unfortunately I didn't get my warranty refund in time to get my own new camera, but no biggie, I just commandeered my GF's new toy the whole time  :D. I'll be most likely ordering the new Canon SX130is tomorrow with my refund that came after we left in typical fashion  ::).

As far as multi usage, there was sadly basically none. My GF used my Swisschamp tweezers to remove a splinter, and that's about it. Cosmetically they look about 4 years older than they did a week ago though lol. To free up some pocket space on our first trip up to the Colorado National Monument, I had the Champ and Skeletool both clipped to a belt loop. A day of scraping them climbing up, over, and around rocks made my week old black scales I just put on the SAK, and my couple week old Skelly CX both look like they've been getting beat on for years haha. Personally, I think they look better now :)

Pics will be posted once I get them all uploaded.

It was incredibly beautiful indeed Chako.
Thanx for the compliments guys, I'm trying to get back into photography after being away from it for close to ten years, so it's good to hear I'm doing a decent job :)
