We have friends who got married without telling anyone. They even went as far as grabbing two strangers off the street outside the registry office to act as witnesses. It annoyed some of the family... but they got over it Congratulations
Me and angela have been together for nearly 9 years now and we have never had the money to get married as we would of liked, but last month we decided to just go and do it, we are going on the 24th nov, no one in our familiy knows ,we are meeting that evening to what they think is just to celebrate my 40th they will be in shock, but for once we are doing something for me and angie and being selfish for once in our lives, it might knock a few noses out of joint but hey ho, at the end of the day its our day just had to share as i cant tell anyone, remeber this is top secret p.S lets hope none of them get into MT's paul
Thats awesome!!! Congratulations!! Who cares what others think as long as you did it your way.....
Congrats! We made The Day into our Our Day and got married at the courthouse. The families weren’t invited but this was our second marriage and we didn’t want to repeat the BS of a traditional wedding. It was the best decision we made. $30 spent total and we went out to eat afterwards. No stress. No family drama. No struggling to meet everyone's expectations. I highly recommend the courthouse wedding to everyone. We recently went to wedding where the bride/groom spent about $12,000. We were thinking that money could have been invested in a college fund, or a down payment on a house, or a trip to Europe. Instead, they spent $12,000 on a bad band, rubber chicken dinners, and a creepy minister.

I never could understand spending so much on a wedding. It would be far better for the married couple if that money went towards a down deposit on a house, etc. I am far too sensible...which might explain why I am still single.
