What kind of life are you getting from incandescent bulbs?

Just trying to get a feel for if a bulb is rated for a 30 hour life how much more you would figure it would be good for?
I imagine it's hard to pinpoint this on a light when it gets grabbed occasionally and used for a few minutes then put away until the next time?
Anyhow thinking of going with an incandescent rechargeable and will be putting it to "light" for about an hour each day so just curious.  Thanks.
