Hi guys my names Mike.  I've been a Soldier in the NZ Army for the last 10 years, had a few pleasant trips overseas to meet interesting people in interesting places and have them throw rocks, petrol bombs and other objects at me.  I currently use an Aussie NSN Swiss tool that a mate gave me after I broke my third Gerber tool.  It's still kicking after 3 years so I'm quite impressed with it.  I have my eye on the SOG EOD power tool so if anyone has used it for dems their feedback would be most appreciated.

Although I don't have one myself, the EOD SOG tool does have a lot of fans on here, I'm sure they'll be along with their thoughts soon enough!
I used to come here a lot.

Welcome!  My opinion of SOG tools are that the pliers are the best, I like the V cutter but many of the other tools aren't of the same quality as Swiss or Leatherman

Hey folks, Mike here, US Army veteran, served for almost 11 years.

Bought a SOG Powerplier in Korea in '93 after having lost several Leatherman's and still have it. Somewhat of a lucky charm now. I have several other pocket knives that rotate around, the usual swiss army knife stays in the car, a couple Benchmade auto's, Spiderco's etc. nothing too fancy.

I'm also a big Peter Atwood fan and own several of his tools.

I'm looking at getting into some knife/tool making but still getting my workshop in order. I dabbled with it in my younger years but never seriously. For the last few weeks, I've been working on a waste oil burner which I will use in building my forge, and just got a lead on an anvil this weekend hopefully that will pan out.

Looks like a lot of good info here I'll probably do more reading than posting to start but will contribute where I can.

oops had to edit it's a powerpiler not multiplier.

Welcome to MT.O I'm sure you'll find lots of helpful info around here...but beware...before you know it you'll have a SAK collection before you know it.  :)
