Hi there,
Some of you may remember me as they guy that used to hang around here... quite a lot actually. Well, I'm back, kinda sorta. I never really left, just my semester at school is super fantastic awesome happy fun times (<--- means brutal in sarcastic world) and I have a ton of work to get through.

Sincerely,
Shane.

Thanks for the pics Sparky.

You have something a little bit unusual there I think. Can you check and see if it has date codes inside the handles, and also it would be nice to hear what is stamped on the blade tang. :)
I used to come here a lot.

There's some small letters that look like ummmm yes it say MING DINASTY

I can't find anything inside the handles,
On the blade it says Leatherman
                                  USA

On the outside of the handle it says

                    LEATHERMAN* TOOL
US REG TM 1325473           PORTLAND OR

Well, as Poncho says, I woudl have expected to see "USA" on the pliers, opposite where it says "LEATHERMAN", so it looks like you've got yourself a nice collectable piece there

Which of the following best fits the shape of the blade on it Sparky? I'm guessing the middle one:

Do you happen to know if your parents bought it new?

Hmmmm  :-[

I'm thinking maybe a somewhere between 20 and 25 years ago. The tool hasn't been available for quite 27 years yet, and we know that the really early models were a bit different. I'm guessing somewhere around 1985 - 1989 perhaps.....

Thank you all  :)
I'm so happy here and meet all of you from many country. I am a fans of Leatherman MT, especially PST, Wave and Charge series, but i just have a little :D , cause it's too hard for us in Indonesia to find the Leatherman MT in a good price. Leatherman MT (and also other branded MT like Victorinox, SOG, Gerber and other) are very expensive for the prices   :-[...
So i will collect it first and i hope i can post the picture with my little collections :)
Nice to see you all.... Have a nice day!

That makes more sense. It is a bit unusual to see that plier head connected to those handles (with the metric measurements). If you ever wish to part with it - drop me a pm ;)

I used to come here a lot.

Hello everyone!  I am new to the forum.  After listening to Graysonk talk about it for so long, I had to come and see for myself.  Hi all!  This is Kim, Graysonk's partner. :)  While I certainly am not as fanatical as Kelly, I do really enjoy the multitools and swiss army knives I've stolen from her.  So I thought it was about time I learned a little bit more.  And according to Kelly, this is the best place to do that. :)  Plus I am kind of curious to find out what makes her laugh so much when she is reading the forum.  LOL!  I look forward to learning more about tools, SAK's and everything in between.

Kim
