Long nail file Camper and the serrated blade Spartan
on: October 12, 2010, 08:50:34 AM
I like collecting odd or unusual SAKs and these two are still available in the Victorinox catalogue. The Camper 1.3722 has the long thin nail file on the back in place of the usual hook - looks awesome! Also the wavy bladed Spartan is available as part of the Picnic Set. Interesting that the main blade has the crossbow tang on that blade. Sorry my camera is stuffed so I can't load images.

A knife with the nail file on the back still in the catalog!   :ahhh

That would be awesome.  I take it this is the Australian catalog?   Please list the item/model number (AN).  I know many people here would like to try to get one.

Just the standard 2008 catalog from Victorinox.com  - it is 1.3722 listed as a Climber (not a Camper, sorry I got it wrong before) with long nail file on back. I got mine NIB from a German dealer and they were about twice the price of the standard Climber. Maybe they are discontinued?

Still a good find, yes the Climber with the long file has shown-up from time to time.  If you found it recently that's pretty good most vendors appeared to run out in 2009, maybe they made some more?

I should check my local dealer... he had some rarities recently (and didn't even know about it...).

You should!!

I found another one last week, didn't really need it but that long nail-file could make some interesting mods if nothing else.  Looks to me like they made another batch.

Maybe I should wait until it is in my hands though to be sure it's the right one.

I just found the long nail file Climber at one of my favorite web shops! I sent them an email asking how many they have in stock. Twice as expensive as regular Climbers, by the way! :P
You should seriously visit vicfan.com. All the hoopy froods are doing it.

How many did they have in stock? I'm guessing they might have done one more run of these. I might get one more as an EDC, I find the long nail file a useful little tool for poking into small areas, retrieving stuff.
