Hello, sorry to crash your very old thread, please contact me if you are looking to sell the Orlik Tank, HW and ASR without the costs and hassle of ebay

Thanks

Tim

Not wishing to hijack the smokers thread, I thought I'd put my lighters over here on their own :)

Sorry about the rubbish pics - light isn't very good right now and the flash kinda washes things out.

Here's all of the ones I am currently hoarding
(Image removed from quote.)

Mostly obvious I think.... Zippo, IMCO, Ronson, Thorens, Colibri, Orlik etc... a few novelty ones too.
I bought a lot of them especially the vintage automatic petrol ones, but there are several that have stories attached too. My favourite is the old slimline Ronson in the middle of the pic which you can just about see has J.H. engraved on it. This belonged to an old actor friend of my dad's called Johnny Heyward who worked with him in Oliver in the 60's. Johnny went a bit bonkers with age and tried to burn down the house he was in at the time - maybe that's when they took his lighters away?! Anyway, he passed away quite a few years ago now this ended up in my possession. I remember the crazy old man fondly.

Here's a better shot of the ones I actually use to most
(Image removed from quote.)

Zippo Texas Twister with a fierce Z-plus insert (paracord duties)
IMCO Junior 6600 for great EDC, been carrying it on and off for 20+ years
The tiny little Colibri which was part of a keychain (now removed) lives in my Bill's Urban Wallet
Orlik Tank, which holds loads of fuel and is really solid and dependable

I think that's it for now.... I sold off most of the cheaper novelty types at a table top sale a while back so mostly left with ones I like. I am considering selling some though as they don't get out enough :)

Thought I'd give this a bump as I just got another new Zippo :)

This is a 1935 Replica. Has the outside 3-barrell hinge and is high polish. I prefer these plain ones without the slashes which were on most of these models. Has a butane soft flame insert in it now.

So, here they are:

Starting at top left; blue Firebird. orange Zippo, orange Bic, black Xikar Executive original,Real Tree camo Steelers Zippo, Xikar single flame Tech Torch, and a blue worn noname tank jet flame (image was presented on my coffee table humidor)

I really only use them for cigar lighting and burning paracord ends, not much else

I really like the replica series - something nice about having different shapes. I think the 1941 is my favourite, but this one has really found a home in my EDC :)

Two of my newest editions to the Stealth lighter family. Pictured below are the Xikar Tech Triple Flame torch and Xikar EXII. The Tech triple was traded in to my local tobacconist for the single flame Tech and the original Executive I had that both didn't work properly. The EXII I got as a "freeby" (a $100 lighter) for buying a box of the Xikar HC Habano Squared (their newest edition to the line). The EXII has a soft flame and torch in the same jet so it is virtually impossible to blow it out (pretty cool to me) and the artwork in the center is old Cuban cigar band replicas under a clear rubber-like substance.

Love Zippo hate the fact they dry out without you knowing it (especially if you are not a smoker).

Found Bic hard shell case that fits the Mini Bic.   Then discovered the Peanut lighter which I carry now (since it seals with an o-ring) it doesn't seem to dry out.

I like the peanut lighter. I thought about picking one up soon.

One reason I don't carry Zippo is because of that and they're not cigar friendly. I have the Z-Plus butane insert and will be getting the double flame insert soon. I've heard the new fuel that is being made for Zippo lighters has no odor to it though so it might be a good choice if it weren't for the fact that you don't know how much fluid is in it (I will not carry Zippo fluid in my bag do to the mess potential). I won't carry that EXII because of there is no fuel window, it stays home where I have the fuel in case it runs out (I carry a small can of butane in my pack though), plus it's too nice to carry every where.

Thought I would give this a little bump with my current favourites :)

As some of you may know, I have LOTS of lighters, but I keep going back to my Zippos. I rarely use them with fuel these days as I have a few butane inserts which I prefer for a number of reasons. So these five are the ones in the current EDC rotation:

1. 1935 Replica, Polished Stainless Steel - 2011
2. Texas Twister (gun metal plate) - 1999
3. Brass Armor - 2012
4. 1941 Replica Hammered Silver Plate - 2008
5. Solid Copper - 2003

I don't smoke, and have no need for a new thing to collect, but man some of these are VERY cool!

I really like the 1935 replica and the hammered silver 1941.

I like nutSAKs old imco too!

Yeah, the replica shapes just have something nice about them.

I carried an IMCO for years, think they are awesome lighters.

Recently got a Thunderbird soft flame butane insert for my Zippo. Really happy with it.

Just wish someone made a butane insert for the Zippo slim!

My sentiments exactly - would be a very nice set up :tu

The only slim one I have kept is a chrome Venetian from about 20+ years ago, but I'd love to carry it with butane.

I used to collect lighters when I was young and ended up stopping. I don't even know where the ones I have left are? I did get given this Bic a few weeks ago. I guess the (fake) Gold plating is new. Kinda cool. I like the non plated better though.
