That looks amazing!  I really want one! Any chance anyone can make that w/ a file blade as well? Any idea how much it would cost?

It wouldn't be cheap. That's for sure. Thought I'd chime in here. Been kinda sick lately though. You'd have to find/buy at least 2 alox models 3 would be best for the build and a SAK with the file. I actually put one on my alox mod but removed it as it was an unwieldily beast (6 layers). I'm happy with the one I have now.
If I remember correctly, wait, what was I saying?

The file will work ;)   Just do a harryf3 mod to it as seen in the sticky at the mod squad.

OK today I've put together what I think was the initial question for.

This 5 layer configuration includes:
Layer1: main blade and awl  (from Farmer)
Layer2: wood saw (from Farmer)
Layer3: metal file/saw (from a 91mm Ranger)
Layer4: electrician balde and pruner blade (from Alox Apprentice and Alox Pruner)
Layer5: can opener and bottle opener (from Farmer)
and the key ring can also be added if desired...

It works fine and is easy to make. There is no technical issue but perhaps a tiny commercial one. ;)
You will need: Farmer + Apprentice + Pruner + Mountanier (or Ranger or ...) to get all parts.

Some more pics...

Oh that looks amazing!  How hard will it be to finish off the pins?  I've been really wondering how hard alox modding would be, and I have no idea how to redo the rivets.  Do you need to peen the pin stock in some sort of holder to give it the right shape, or peen against the scale itself?
PM me or email sakmodder [at] gmail . com if you are looking for custom SAK work.

Yes, that's exactly what I want, in Silver Alox. Sounds a bit rich for my blood, though. You think it would be ~$125 or so?

I have a good name suggestion - the Victorinox Lineman.

edit - Do you think it would work using just a Pioneer Harvester, an Alox Apprentice, and a Ranger? The can opener on the Ranger might need to be drilled out, but since the file needs to be as well, I'm thinking it might not be a big deal.

edit 2 - Make that an Electrician instead of an Apprentice, I believe you need the extra backspring.

I would not use the can opener from a 91mm it's a bit thinner than the Alox one. Some small parts like a wood saw backspring, one or two liners and a little spacer is also needed in adition to the above mentioned knives, but this stuff usually lay around on every modder's workbench.  ;)

For material about $125 should be ok. Now you need to find a modder in your country (I don't know where you are from) or of course you can do it yourself...

I'm thinking again about getting this one done. Who would be willing to put this together? How much would it run?
