So far I've not much to show either.  Fortunately few people look at me, so I've not gotten any teasing yet!

What I do have to show is some cool stuff that I am going to give away at random to folks who donate.  This is what the pot holds at the MOment:

1x Benchmade Houdini Pro/ERT-1
1x Raker Ring Tool
1x Raker Firesteel
1x SS CRKT NIRK, with the box signed by the designer, Glenn Klecker, who is also responsible for the Skeletool design.

I may dig up some more stuff, but I'll pick someone at random to get all that sometime in the next week, so get donating!

OK guys I am comfortable enough now to start hassling loved ones , colleagues , buddies  :pok: :pok: :pok: :D :D & strangers for donations now that I have some visible evidence of a moe  ::) :D :D :D .

Team MultiMoe has currently raised $180 with Neil 1'st on $65 , Def 2'nd on $10 & me 3'rd on $0 :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :D :D.
The extra $105 came from carry over donations I got from last year.

If you can afford to spare a couple of bucks please donate , most members here have Prostates so research into Prostate cancer is in our interest  :pok: :D.
Dealing with male depression is a HUGE problem as blokes struggle to talk about depression & struggle too ask for help when depressed. Movember has raised millions of dollars that has gone to prostate cancer research & supporting men with depression through such organisations as Beyond Blue , lets help the good work to continue.
Thanks.
Mat.

Two weeks in, here's me and my Moe!

Mat has a good point- with well over 2,000 members, most of us of the male persuasion, and a statistic of 1 in 6 men being affected by prostate cancer in their lifetime, which means that over 330 of your fellow Multitool.org members are in the running.  Make a list of all the men you know, and that you work with and count off every 6th one and ask yourself what you'd do if something happened to them?

And, lets not forget, one lucky person who donates will get all of this:

Quote
1x Benchmade Houdini Pro/ERT-1
1x Raker Ring Tool
1x Raker Firesteel
1x SS CRKT NIRK, with the box signed by the designer, Glenn Klecker, who is also responsible for the Skeletool design.

So, make a donation and let Mat, Neil or myself know you did, and we'll enter you in the draw.  And remember gentlemen, the ass you save may be your own.

Done. Sorry, I can't give more at the moment...

I don't have Prostates, but my grandfather had prostate cancer. I guess he is the person who influenced me most regarding knifes, tools, EDC etc. He died last year, and I still miss him a lot...  :(

Well, Ray at Raker Knives and Tools has decided to up the ante.  While some lucky bugger will win the above tool set, Ray has offered this new piece to another lucky bugger.

Anyone who makes a donation over $5 will get a chance to win this knife.  An excerpt from Ray's email to me:

Quote
I have spent some time thinking about a blade made for the Bug Out Bag.  What I have come up with is a rugged, high performance knife made the same way and with the same batch of steel that I have used for all my ABS performance tests.  It is also the same steel I used in all the cutting contests I won or came in second with.

I have been doing some testing of the design for ease of cutting and other uses that may be needed in a survival situation.  The back ground clip point enables the point to be inserted easily into a crack for opening ammo boxes and penetration.  The blade is wide enough to be used for prying and is differentially heat treated to prevent breaking.  If bent, can be bent back.  I don’t know how many times or how far it would take to break it but it can be straightened.  It is made the same way as the “Ray Kirk JS Bowie” that Cliff Stamp tested several years ago.

The knife has a paracord (84”) wrapped handle with a small firesteel under the wrap on one side.  This puts a small bulge in the palm of the hand.  There is a notch on the butt (the butt has been heat treated to resist deformation and the sharp fire striker)  for using the firesteel, a forged in finger guard, and thumb notches.

The knife comes with a Kydex sheath and Tec Lok belt attachment.  The sheath is made so the knife will be unable to dislodge but can still be drawn by using the thumb to unlock it.  It can be worn on the belt in a variety of positions and on the webbing of the back pack.  A friend testing one is a forest fire fighter.  He switched from a machete to the smaller knife for his harness to cut small limbs.  So far it has been working great for him.  The machete was a bit of over kill anyway but was all he had at the time.

This knife hasn’t been offered to the public yet and I will donate one to the cancer moe contest.

Thanks Ray- I am certain everyone is going to want to get in on this one!

I just found out about this "contest" or "dare" so to speak and it is mid month.  Can I still join in on this one?  My step dad has prostate cancer and is undergoing 48 days of treatment in which he just started yesterday, so I want to do this for him.

UPDATE:  I can not find our team listed in the search.  When I type "MultiMoe" without the quotes I can not find us so I can not join our team.  I can still do the challenge for the rest of the month though.  Once or if I get my point and shoot digital camerea fixed "my two year old might have broken it" I will take a pic of myself and go from there.  I love this idea and it is just a small way that I can give back and help support my step father.

Here is the link to our team page:

http://au.movember.com/mospace/team/

I'm not sure what the rules are for coming late to the party, but if it's ok with the Movember organization, it's ok with me!

Even if you can't participate as a team member, you can always still donate as the raised funds are what this is all really about.

Oh, and I'm sure we all send out best wishes to your step father.

One more thing- while we are having some fun with it, this is no less serious a disease.  I normally don't encourage folks to spam other forums with what we are doing here, but if other forums you belong to are not holding their own fund raising efforts, please feel free to direct anyone who may be interested in donating towards Team MultiMoe's page.

Ditto for Facebook, Twitter and any other ways you have to spread the word.

Movember was started in Australia & it is still evolving from a International perspective. I asked about having a multi :Dnational  team & got this reply from Movember HQ ;

"
> Hi Mat,

> Money donated to a team will go to the country of
> registration. Your friends from other countries should request their
> accounts be deleted and then sign up in
> their own country. You will not be able to be in the same team though,
> however you could ask us to set you up a network that your teams from
> around the globe will be able to join."

I have asked if a Network could be set up with the view that next year we will have everything in place so that team MultiMoe can have a kick arse effort. This year can be a set up year so that you Mofo's can donate  :pok: & hopefully join next year  :pok: :pok: :pok:

lovenhim thanks for joining in mate   I will give you a update on the Team MultiMoe network when I hear.
