I like the little flags

Not too long ago it was easy to figure out roughly where on the face of the Earth the different members of this fine forum resided due to the little flags people selected in their forum profiles. Due to the recent software update that information was lost.

Many of you have reset your little flags

But many of you are pretending you are of no fixed abode

Make me happy and set your little flags again please

But I still want state flags, after all accoring to Section 1 of the 14th Article of Amendment of the United States Constitution, I am not just a citizen of the US but also of Ohio.

"...are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside."

So give us state flags.

And you did it for those in the UK and what is good for the goose is good for the gander.

also, most uk subregions were done by default, Northern Ireland gets excluded alot...

The regional flag may be cool to whoever chose it, but I'm guessing most other people have no idea what they represent, so the whole thing becomes kinda pointless. I wouldn't know the u.s. state flag or the parts of UK flag unless I check the flag file name or alt text.

can someone remind me why I bothered to spend time making sure the flags mod worked in the new version if a bunch of people aren't going to both using it? or worse, use the one intended as a spammer honeypot

I really like having the flags. It's nice to have some idea of where the person you are conversing with is located.

I think that many members simply don't know they need to access their profile and reset it again after the forum upgrade. Perhaps a message from administrator explaining and encouraging all members would help?
