Anyone mod a Spirit Plus sheath to hold more?
on: November 15, 2010, 01:54:42 AM
Howdy!

Just looking at my new Spirit plus sheath and was trying to figure out a way to fit in an adapter so I could use 1/4" sockets.  So far the only way I can see to do it is to try and unstitch the part in the middle of the tube that holds the corkscrew.  That solution, however, means the corkscrew needs a new home...

Anyone else try to fit more in?  Maybe the best bet is an aftermarket sheath.

Personally, the Plus sheaths are simply entirely too bulky for me; if I needed my wrench set and adapter, I'd just use another regular Spirit sheath; plus, I'm a skinny guy... like Benner skinny... so it stuck out. :/

Good thoughts, thanks!

I had thought about that, but more for the extra space than because of the bulk.

The tool will most likely reside nearby at home or work and not be sheath carried.  If I carried it, I would likely just pocket it.

Hmm, I'd still suggest you look into a leather or nylon Spirit sheath; there's enough room for a couple extras, in addition to the wrench and extension bar; I don't have my kit with me here, but I do know there there's enough room left over for a short pen, IIRC.
