$50 Light Saber
on: November 17, 2010, 03:46:53 AM
After reading some posts and researching the Photo Proton Pro, I took the plunge.  For its size it is amazing. I laid my Mag and the Photon side by side and the difference was amazing.  My Mag 2AA LED couldn't hold a candle to the Photon Pro.

This little light is amazing!  It's blindingly bright and small enough to carry all the time.  I'm looking forward to using it for the next little while.

It's amazing just how much better this generation of lights are compared to even an LED Maglite :)
Give in, buy several Farmer's!!!!!!

Does it make whooshing noises?  That would be awesome.

So what you're telling me is:  I can use it at night for reading, but I'll have to wear a welder's helmet?

Not quite that extreme, since the light level is adjustable, but at full power it is very harsh if you happen to shine it in your eyes or someone else's.

I tinkered with the strobe feature a little last night.  It's a little odd and probably not something I will use.

And, no whooshing sounds.  Probably a good thing since I expect to carry it in my pocket. ::)

Looks good for the price & lifetime warranty! How is the beam quality? Rings or doughnut holes in the beam?

At full brightness, the Photon Pro has good throw with a strong center spot.  There is enough spill around the edges to light up a small room or for negotiating a dark hallway that might or might not have a couple of cats lurking in the dark.
