Lighting is key

As the title says, lighting indeed is key. Anyone have a good way to make a ghetto lightbox? I want a simple, cheap way to get proper lighting in my macro photography.

Add two-three daylight color-corrected CFLs on bendy-neck tables lamps, and some swatches of solid-colored cloth for backgrounds.  Shouldn't cost you more than $20.

Oh, and for the record - there's no such thing as a single item being the "key" to photography.  Lighting, composition, colour, focus or focus selection and depth of field are all incredibly important aspects of photography.

Also, being prepared to take about 600 photos to get the few you want.

It's key to me at this moment in time with my current gear.

That link was really helpful though, thank you :)
