Putting'em out to pasture.........
on: October 07, 2007, 06:13:55 AM
So I'm used to Motorola pulling radios out of production ...and support  >:( ......like a Marine going thru clips... pretty quickly. It's got me thinking........ how long has Vic been producing the SwissTool and Spirit masterpieces and is there any end in sight? Might have to pick up an extra vert/hor-mount sheath just in case. Yeah... why not, right?  :)

Well they've both been around a while now, and Victorinox usually have VERY long production runs, so I think your safe on that score for a while :)

Don't let that stop you getting a Swisstool though ;D

The SwissTool came out in 1997, the Spirit in 2004. Neither one feels obsolete to me! Can't imagine them pulling the plug.

On the other hand, the Vic AutoTool was intro'ed in 1999 and died an almost immediate death.

In order to be certain of having the right tool for every job.........one must first acquire a lot of tools

Not on my watch!  I don't see them dropping their tool line, but more likely expanding and improving it...I hope.  How cool would it be to have a One Hand Spirit?

That's got to be the single most requested addition to the spirit :), you never know it might happen.

An OH Spirit?  Seems like someone else around here was trying to make one a while back...  It's been so long I don't know what ever happened with it... :pok:

If you took all the intestines out of your body and stretched them end to end... you would die.
