Def's secret sheath
on: December 03, 2010, 01:18:34 AM
I just read Carry Methods over at SOSAK and this phrase interested me: "Bob Reichardt (President of Pock-its) and I have been working together on potentially creating a new sheath, but I can’t go into any more detail as it’s still ultra-secret at this point!" What do you guys think it is?

There isn't even a prototype yet, so nothing to take pics of- Bob and I have just started discussing it, and while we have an idea of the direction we want to go with it, there's no way to really describe it properly here.

Bob and Pockits are already quite good at what they do, just now Bob would like to do more, and I'm trying to help him with that.

First though, we need to finalize the design (at least in our minds) then put together a few for testing and evaluation.  And then we may enlist some aid from the community here if folks are interested in helping out.

Is that a subtle hint?  :D

I am meeting with the seamstress sometime in the next few days to review some sketches, then we'll make a prototype to finalize the initial design, then create a pattern and send it off to Bob to have his seamstress refine the design for limited production.  Then, some serious testing and evaluation, then possible actual production!

Unless I missed a step in there- I'm not exactly a pro at this you know....

I'm also interested as I need (want) a new sheath.  I'd also happily test one out for you as well :-)

No news yet I'm afraid.  I just got off a Skype call with Bob from Pock-Its and we have expanded the idea into a potential whole new line for an as yet untapped market.  Of course the thing about an untapped market is that there may not be a market for it, which is why no one has tapped it yet!  :P

We will of course make special arrangements/deals for anyone here who may be interested when/if we get anything off the ground.  Nit Ize is very interested in the concepts we have shown them so far, and I believe this expansion will put us well over the top.

All I can say for now is that it is in keeping with the rest of Pock-Its products.
