Thought I'd bump this thread rather than start a new one as I feel like a bit of a stranger here now having had a quick flick through the forums!

I thought I'd just post an update (in case anyone is interested) and let people know I'm still alive!

Obviously I've not been around much (at all in fact) for the past what, 6 months? Doesn't time fly?

Fact is that I've experienced some changes in my life and I no longer have the time or resources to collect and talk about multitools the way I did. That's not actually as terrifying as it sounds, much of the change has been very, very positive for me and I am busier than I've ever been in my spare time. My weekends are still busy with football in various forms, and of course many of you will know that I've become very active in the world of electronic cigarettes, where there's always some campaign to be fought, or event to be arranged (we've even launched an online TV channel, but I'll not spam Def's forum with that - PM me if you are interested)! My family are all well and we still go on our little weekend walking adventures (some things aren't negotiable)!

Will there be a UK meet this year? I'd probably still try and get along to that if it happened and you'll have me (alas I can't really organise it this year though)- could someone drop me a PM or mail if anything is happening? Ta :)

Oh - and I nearly forgot. I have decided to liquidate my multitool collection. I've done the hard thinking and concluded two things. Firstly - I'd rather have the funds and floor space back than a couple of hundred tools that I rarely even look at now, and secondly, it's a shame that the run of the mill pieces aren't being used, and the collectable pieces aren't being displayed or properly appreciated by someone.

I'll post a thread in the Sale forum at some point, but if anyone has their eye on a particular piece in my collection let me know. Be warned that it's not a fire-sale and I'll be holding onto some particular tools that have sentimental value to me, but generally speaking it's for sale so let me know if you're interested in something.

Cheers.
Dave :)
I used to come here a lot.

No - in fact the opposite. More of a reviewer / consumer champion type of role really! My credibility depends on my NOT profiting from anything. I'm also moderating on a leading UK "vaping" forum etc. Fun - but pretty much all consuming!

Godspeed and please pop in when you have a spare moment.

Thanks Nate - I'll be sure to do that. I have a lot of friends here that I won't forget easily :)

Think what you like, but you'll never be a stranger around here!  That would imply that there would be some hesitation as to whether or not you'd be welcome, and that won't ever be the case.  The doors here are always open to you, and I hope you know that.

However, we may have to remove your Multitool.org tattoo, so keep one eye open for someone with a cheese grater at the next meetup!  :D

Can't stop, but here's proof that I'm still alive (and still using my Maxpedition gear)!

I'll be setting up that sales thread as soon as I get time - but drop me a PM if you're interested in anything that you know I have. Even better, e-mail at the address on my profile, as the PM notification thingummy doesn't seem to be working!
