After stopping by a favorite, albeit very smoky, store of mine, I walked out with two Baker's/Twine knives, a spare Case Peanut in black G10, and a Buck Charcoal Dymondwood Cadet. :tu:

I gotta say, it's not often to see people your age prefer the traditional slippies.

I like traditional slipjoints as much as I like SAKs; it's just that when I want to carry a slipjoint, I at least take my Vic Cadet, too, so I can have a bare minimum of tools.  :D

Speaking of slippies, I just ordered a UKPK orange g-10.  I always liked that knife.  Because it is orange. :D  It will be my first UKPK so although I can carry a locking folder, it is still cool.  I also ordered a pink SOG toolclip for the wife.

I almost went for one of the CF UKPK when a local store had it for a good price, but eventually decided against it, still prefer a locker, more versatile.

Just got this Rough Rider. The blade is made of 440 SS and it has a nice build quality. So far this is my big bang for the Buck knife.

Just a few from the past month. Some potentially usefull, some just pretty looking, varying levels of quality and finish.
All bought unseen apart from the wengers. Generally, low price folders that caught my eye. Now I need to find some use for them......

I know it's a bit off topic, but where can one get a good price on that nice little buck vantage avid?

Perhaps I should post pix of my new persistence?

Boker plus is quickly becoming my favorite brand...

The Carbon, three guesses why it's called that.

No, it's not automatic just a button lock, and doesn't have a clip.

I really like Elephant Toenails type of slipjoints, but find them very expencive for my taste (I'm not a collector, so they must earn keep)...

http://www.elephanttoenails.com/

Maybe I should try Rough Rider knives??

Nice slipjoint there 2xtap! :tu:  I don't always comment on your many acquisitions but
I enjoy each of your reviews with pictures.

Jzmtl,  that is a nice looking Boker.  From one Canuck to another where are you getting
your Boker's, off the 'bay?   :)

Yep, caledon2/S&R on ebay. He has a pretty good selection of bokers, and the price is close enough with u.s. stores that I'm willing to pay some extra to avoid any custom issues.

Oh and if edcdepot has it I always get it from him, his price and shipping is unbeatable.

No pics yet but I picked up a ZT 0200 last weekend and have a SwissBianco Victorinox silver Alox MiniChamp coming in the mail. Also, though not a folder, I just got my ESEE Izula II on Wednesday from Knives Ship Free.

I like zero tolerance.  :tu:  and in particular that one because it's non-assisted? hope
your happy with it.

I picked up one of these the other day as I don't have many by this company and I
like it so far.  One of the easiest designs to strop.  ;)

Sweet CRKT.  I'm getting back in to them after being out of CRKTs for so long - annoyed they started putting AUS 4 and 420J2 steel in things.  Now that they're going to the mid-range Chinese steels I'll probably look at CRKT more closely.

yeah they do have a bit of a monopoly in the cheap steel dept on some of their
models, some though, not too bad.  I really think the knife industry as a whole
should just keep 420J2 use in the liners only.  ;)
