Family Fishing Time
on: April 16, 2023, 04:05:39 AM
Our local lakes and ponds thawed out last weekend, so we got to make our first family fishing trip of 2023. It was the first fishing trip for our 3 week old daugher, Jordi, as well. We ended up catching 6 or 7 Rainbow Trout and lost a bunch more. Had the SwissChamp (for the Champ Challenge) along plus a few others. We are already itching to get back out!

That’s awesome!

When I go fishing it’s more like I’m taking some bait out for a swim…

 @MTSAK - Beautiful family!

Lovely and colorful Rainbow Trout🤩

Great scenery😎

I do luv the picture of your daughter holding the trout with her brother❤️

You will need to keep and eye on her as a young lady with those talents will attract other suitors in future years.

Cooking pictures as an update to really nail this thread…🧐
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

I appreciate the kind words everyone! We have had spring fever something fierce so the day would have been totally worth it even if we didn't catch anything. Any time spent outdoors is the best!

I love the pics, MTSAK.
Been a couple years since I've been able to go out fishing.  Trouble is ,  when I go, all I catch is bait.

That is one amazing backdrop!

The lakes around here are still covered by thick ice, but that has its charm too. Just have to work a little harder

could barely get through the ice two weeks ago. The handle was rubbing against the surface of the ice just as the tip pierced through the bottom. Quite convenient, since I did not bring the drill extension

While the air temperature is still quite cold, with night temps steadily below freezing, the weather has been really nice lately and with the sun climbing to higher elevation every day, spending days outside is much more comfortable. This of course is even more incentive to go fishing, so last weekend I found a time slot to start off the surf fishing season.

What do you use for rod holders?

Just these simple, chinesium ones that you push down into the ground.

Not the exact store where I've bought mine, but they look exactly the same. Sorry for linking to a Norwegian site, but that's what you get when asking a Norwegian these kind of questions. They have been kind of hard to come by lately, and my regular fishing gear pusher doesn't even seem to have them in their catalogue anymore.

Luminous and adjustable, I like.

I've made some from pvc pipe for sand beaches but need to make something different for the stone beaches.
