SwissTool Spirit S

Hey everyone, my first post here, so I feel I should say a few words about myself. My name is João Paquim, I'm from Portugal and live in Lisbon. I'm 17 years old, and I collect quite a few types of things: knives, lighters, pens, etc.

I wanted to buy a SwissTool Spirit, and the model that appeals to me the most is the S model, because I already carry a scissors-based mini-MT, and the scissors on the Spirit aren't apparently all that great, while having a plain and a serrated blades is always nice.

The thing is, it seems that, with the exception of the Black Oxidized version, fewer and fewer online stores are carrying them, or else they're out of stock. Has the S model been discontinued?

Swiss tolls are sold less and less it seems. I used to by them at big box stores and mom and pop shops but nobody around here still has them. I wonder if they are not discontinued but rather just not sold much???

As for the Spirit S, I'm having a hard time finding them in online stores, they seem to be getting scarcer and scarcer...

They have the Spirit S at a rather nice price, I just don't whether to trust them or not. The only place I've seen with reviews on the is this one: http://www.resellerratings.com/store/Denver_Discount_Mart and it doesn't seem very favorable.

Yeah, what Tim's website says he has, and what ha actually has don't generally jive with each other. Besides, if he really doesn't have one, chance are he can still get you one.

What a bummer. Nobody here wanting to sell one? Is the Black Oxide good looking? Any pictures of it?

The Black Oxide Spirit S looks great. Check the ownership sticky thread for pictures, but I'll try to post some of my edc later. Perhaps my favorite would be a Spirit S withe the hamdles from the RT, but I find the black Spirit perfect for edc, as the black is stealth and helps avoid problems with sheeple.

The RT does look rather nice, from the few photos I've seen of it, but doesn't quite justify the price tag, though.

But why would Victorinox discontinue the Spirit S? It's not even listed on the american website anymore.

I was amazed that I didn't already have a plain Spirit S. I do have the BO version though. I thought I had most of them by now...go figure.

So I ordered one from knifecenter as well. The other links won't ship across the border.

Good to see there are still a few available. It does look like we're seeing the first casualty in the Spirit line several sites report the Spirit-S as discontinued. However, don't be surprised if Vic makes another run in the not too distant future once the Spirit-X sales and promotions taper off and the supply of the BO version dries up.

Almost makes me thing I shouldn't have used mine so much if it's going to become semi-collectible. Bah, what am I saying, I don't do shelf queens. Does make me glad I resisted the urge to sell it off though.
