After going to the Nanostriker site and viewing the firestarting videos, I wanted to give it a try with dryer lint. I dug around in my drawer and found this Tool Logic survival knife:
There's a striker built into the spine of the knife
I was stunned how well it worked! The Tool Logic knife and a small packet of lint would easily start a fire.
The other tools in the knife are a flashlight:
and rescue whistle
Since I had the tool in my pocket, I decided to give it a test run while at the barn this evening. A barn tool/knife has some requirements: Has to be OHO. Has to be usable with gloves on. Has to be close-able with one hand.
The Tool Logic performed flawlessly and the blade was extremely sharp. As an added benefit, the flashlight was handy and would make a decent backup light.
I believe this would be very good camping knife. Very impressive tool.
