Victorinox Classic SD Spec. Ed.
on: December 28, 2010, 11:54:58 AM
Anybody have an interest in the special edition Classic SD keyring knives periodically released by Victorinox.

i currently reside in Japan and have seen quite a few designs not found outside of this market, particularly these: http://www.victorinox.co.jp/news/detail.php?news_id=178which can actually only be purchased in the city represented on them.

There is also a Star Wars series: http://www.victorinox.co.jp/news/detail.php?news_id=191

As well as a number of other 'fashion' oriented designs: http://www.victorinox.co.jp/news/detail.php?news_id=185

And some commercial/product related designs: http://www.victorinox.co.jp/news/detail.php?news_id=201

Oh and the 125th Anniversary edition also: http://www.victorinox.co.jp/125/editions/m_01.html

Nice! :tu:
The "city" versions are awesome! Quite like the fashion ones as well. The 125th anniversary edition is available outside Japan by the way :)

There are some really cool designs there.  Amongst the recent "unusual" designs released in Europe recently nothing has greatly appealed but those are great!

There are several brilliant city designs and I'd be hard pressed to choose a favourite.  The Yokohama one brings a smile :D
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

Yes, the City designs are very nice, i only have the Hiroshima one at the moment.

Not so impressed by most of the 'fashion' designs that i have seen so far.

Was not aware the 125th anniversary design was available outside of Japan (though it makes sense) , i have one of those also.

Glad that people here on the forum enjoyed my post.   :)

Welcome Aboard!

Very Nice!  I don't collect many 58mm size but some of those are very cool and would make very nice gifts.

The StarWar Series is popular, but with the exchange they are quire expensive for a Classic.

There was a very cool stripped colored one done in the colors of a famouse noodle company there, can't remember it right now.  I REALLY liked that color, but I found the price too expensive.

It would have been great to know you a couple of months back when Amazon JP had some 91mm knives with the Space Shuttle inlay on them.  I bet collectors in Japan were very happy to find those at regular retail prices.

Very good post , there are some really cool Classics in the Japanese market . I guess under Japanese law , they are one of the better EDC options .

Some of those are great!  :tu: I collect 58mm and have many with neat designs but I have not found the the newest classics to my liking. Here are some of my classics on my Blog;

I have more and add them as I have time to.

Can the Star Wars ones be purchased individually or does one have to buy the whole set?  I only need the C3PO/R2D2 one.

Yes, the Star Wars ones were available individually, though the Victorinox store located near me in Hiroshima no longer has them (or the Hiroshima model) in stock; they do have some quite effeminate looking 'fashion' designs though.  :-\

i will be going down to Tokyo early in the New Year, so i'll have a look and see if the Star Wars classics are still available at any of the stores down there.

Hello Yokomode,

My son is crazy about Victorinox Classics.
I consulted the URL's you gave and there are some fantastic Victorinox Classics. The pictures are splendid but the problem is that I don't understand Japanese.
Any idea of a Japanese website (with English translations) where I could order some of these beautiful Classics?
Thanks a lot.
