What my Multitools remind me of (a pictorial)
on: December 22, 2010, 03:15:25 AM
I have been toying with the idea of making this thread for a while now.  It is inspired by those times when I am cleaning/fondling my tools and I am reminded of other things by the shapes and textures I see in my tools.  Similar to seeing shapes in the clouds on a cloudy day.

This is what I see.

An undeniable comparison.

Say you don't see the resemblance!

Kind of an obscure Star Wars reference.

From the original Tron movie.

:)

Another undeniable comparison.

Yup, the plier head looks like the head of a goose.

Anyone care to share theirs?
:)

Folks always make fun of me for this one....

I always thought the battery tray on the Victorionox in-body LED looked like a piggy.

Rotate it around a bit so the clip on the LED is the back legs, and assume the pig's head and shoulders are inside the SAK....

It opens up so you can change the watch cell batteries in the light.  The rest of the time it is closed and looks like this:

And if you shine it on a wall at close range the beam looks like a punisher skull.

I haven't had time to take any reminds-me-of pictures myself, but this thread does bring to mind the Leatherman ad campaign from a few years back: :)

Those are quite cute, was that part of a contest as well or just the ad campaign?

I would have entered that if I had known about it.

It was their ad campaign from around 2004 or so. There were several others if I recall  but those are the ones I managed to save.

You are right though, it would have been a fun contest. :)

Thanks Gareth, I wish the thread wouldn't have fizzled out so quickly.  I was really looking forward to seeing other peoples impressions of their tools, must be just me and Def that sees these things :)

Love the monkey tool :tu:

With a little help from another serrated blade, the emergency blade on the DAK 2010 (DualPro) reminds me of a crocodile. A pretty weird one ;)
