New Wenger store opened in our city mall

This store just opened. It surprised me, grabbed my old SE P990 and took some shots.

Even though at the moment all of my SAKs are Vics, I've always had a soft spot for Wenger as it was my 1st SAK. I like several of their design features as well. (Can anyone say Scissors?). Since I have EDC'ed a Vic 111mm of one persuasion or another for almost 20 years now I've been looking long and hard at Wenger's Ranger line. I really appreciate the pics but man, some of those are chunky knives.

I'm very envious.  :poh:  I know of very few places to buy a Wenger off-the-shelf, let alone a dedicated shop.  Cheers for sharing though.

BSA knives in the Philippines?  Very cool- I can't buy them around here!

Boy Scouts of America.  Those purple handled Wengers are the new BSA knives.  I have to special order them to get them.

I really dislike wenger sheaths.
They have about 1 cubic cm of velcro on them, and they are just chunky looking...
Their saks, on the other hand, are superb.
Have fun

They were actually commissioned by WOSM, the World Organisation for the Scout Movement, which is why you can buy them in the Philippines (and from retail outdoor stores here in South Africa, too). The BSA still offer various Victorinox models on their website.

Very good point, I hadn't noticed that myself. :tu:

OOooh, AAaah!  Did they let you fondle handle any of the knives? I wish we had some kind of knife shop close here with more SAK's but being in Texas most knife shops cater more towards American "Quality" made knives or cheap Chinese made crap. I know Chinese made knives are getting better and I have bought a couple just to see them but they still have a ways to go yet.

I did not see any photos of the Mike Horn knife?

Actually just a slight correction: those are official World Scout Knives, not BSA.

Awesome store to have. They need a Mike Horn Ranger in there.

Thanks for the pictures!   :salute:

I like the sheaths . When I was working with Thundernoodle last year he used a Wenger sheath on his lifejacket and got on with it really well .

I paid 590 Php pesos for that sheath, around 13.50 USD.

Actually I asked the lady why there's no Wenger Mike horn edition on display, she told me that you have to place an order to get one. Hard to find?

OK, thanks. I did not know the Mike Horn knife was so hard to find. So the card display you have circled in this photo is for the Mike Horn model?
