I was attempting to remove a  cracked light fitting that had been cross threaded and as usual I had nothing suitable for the job so I used my shortcut but put a bit to much pressure on the handles  As a result of my shortcut is rather bent out of shape
So is it worth trying to repair or just get a new one and not be so silly again

it depends on how much they're bent of shape , Hercules ;D I don't know the pricing in the UK,but in the Staes,they're cheaply and easily replaceable.
 BTW,ease up a bit on the spinach

I would consider contacting Gerber (or their UK representative) to see what they suggest.  If you think you can bend it back safely, then that may be an option, but if you think the damage is more extensive you may want to consider contacting them for repair.

I may just opt for getting a new one as the existing pair closely resemble the late great John Waynes legs I will find out about the cost of repair but won't expect anything but bad news it's not called rip off Britain for nothing

That's the way it often goes, but if they are willing to replace the tool at little to no cost to you, they might seem that much more attractive!

I have not contacted them as yet I was on from 08-00 and am just in22-40 hrs will do it on my day off

I will admit to commiting a good going breach of the peace at the time of the incident  :oops:and may have utter the words "I may as well through the F****** thing in the bin" SWMBO possibly took me at my word but won't admit to it .Enquiries continue
