Why do these things happen to me?

I received a package in the mail today. When I opened it up, I was puzzled...very puzzled. It was an HO scale NYC model train engine and tender. It is a very beautiful model of high quality. Now, I racked my brains trying to figure out if I had bought the thing because for the life of me, I couldn't make heads or tails of it. I reviewed my eBay purchases to no avail. After unpacking the lovely high Quality train engine, I noticed a sheet of paper at the bottom. I looked at it quickly and almost had heart failure! $410 for this? Was I mad or nuts or something? I then visited PayPal and did some backtracking and found that I didn't have anything that was 410 dollars. Taking a closer look at the invoice....it wasn't my name or address. I looked at the shipping label...and it was mine on the box. Doh! They sent me someone else’s order by mistake.

I just sent the company an email explaining their error. I am currently waiting to see what they have to say about this. They had better not expect me to pay to ship it off somewhere.  :rant:

Wow! I would imagine that will set some panic on the other end.  Can't say something
along those lines has ever happened to me.  Good of you to let them know though. :)

Panic about sums it up alright.

That was the quickest reply I ever had from a shop owner. :D

I told him not to worry, and that I will re-ship it to the other fellow this weekend. He will reimburse me for my cost. Got to love software glitches.

Well apparently too good for my own good it seems.

I sent the package on Saturday morning, and it cost me 15 dollars. The shop owner told me he would recover my cost. Well, 2 emails later, no reply. Looks like I got stiffed the shipping cost.  :rant:  :rofl:

It is scary to think how often this happens and people aren't as honest as you  :o

I really hope you get the cost covered and more  :tu:

I remember reading a similiar story on British Blades. From what I remember a guy received an unexpected delivery from Heinnie, he was a regular customer. All details were his. He called them up to enquire. After checking it turned out it was meant for his next door neighbour lol.
