Clue me in on Leatherman sheaths.
on: October 20, 2007, 05:11:47 AM
So I purchased a Crunch, and it looks like it's coming with an old Leatherman sheath.  Are these worthwile, or are they similar to the toy like newer sheaths?  Do they ride high or low on a belt?

The old leather sheaths can't be beat.  My Crunch came with a leather sheath just like my original Leatherman tool only slightly wider.   The top protrudes above the top of the belt line, but not too much.

The older Leatherman sheaths are well made, but rode too high on the belt for me.  I prefer the nylon/velcro horizontal type.  Eagle makes a good one, found mine on knifezilla.com in the accessories section.  And TAD Gear also has some nice ones.

Thanks for all the info everyone.

I saw these on ebay also...anyone get one from this guy?  He makes two sizes...I think this is the smaller one that fits a Wave:
