Pretty cool.  I like that they have the 18650 body w/built-in Li-Ion recharging.  Or, at least, I think that's the point she was trying to make...

I wish there were shortcuts on the UI, rather than having to cycle through all the modes...

Yeah, it does have USB charging for the 18650. I like that there are 1xAA and 2xAA versions. I wish the light itself had a better UI though. Sure looks like the future though.

Sometimes change is a good thing, other times not so much!

They are out now- I'm downloading the software right now and I'll report back on it after playing for a while.  The concept seems really neat, we'll see if it works as well in practice.

I will. I buy the really good batteries for my camera and that's all I had on me in Vegas. Rather than use one in my light and possibly leave my camera short I'm waiting until I get home to fire this puppy up. I've already downloaded and installed the software on my laptop and it seems ridiculously easy to use.

I've just been screwing around with this light for a while and I created an SOS mode pretty easily.  Basically it flashes SOS in Morse Code (three fast, three slow and three fast) then pauses and starts again.

I was expecting to be able to adjust the brightness, the order in which various brightness levels came on (how many times I'd have to press the button to get each level) as well as adjust the frequency and brightness of any flashing modes, but I was not expecting to be able to program in a more complex sequence like Morse Code.

The other neat thing is that I saved it as a profile on my computer so I can not only install it on the light nay time, but I can install it in conjunction with other sequences (ie regular use modes) so I can access it only when needed, and I can share these profiles with other people who have one of these lights.

I'm really impressed with this thing so far, and I haven't really gotten too far into it.  Programming it is as simple as using a scroll bar on your computer, so really, anyone can do it.  The only drawback I see is that the software window is somewhat compact, and when doing a complex series (such as programming an SOS) it only shows a few previous sequences, so it's a bit awkward if you aren't keeping close tabs on where in the program you are.  I'd like to be able to maximize the window so I can see the previous ten or twenty settings in case I want to send a more complex message.

Nice!  I'll have to get these lights as gifts for my friends, and set the flashing mode to Morse code out "I'm a Douche", and tell them its some international distress signal. :D   I like the light alot, so I have to have one to fiddle with now.  You should get commission on these reviews.

I sure wish I did!  Imagine if I had a dollar for every multitool, flashlight or knife someone has bought since I started this site?  My annual trip to Las Vegas would certainly be a hell of a lot more interesting, that's for sure!  :P
