A few pics I've taken recently....
on: January 28, 2011, 03:18:03 PM
Hi Guys :)

Not been very active in the past few months (getting on for a year now...ooops!) but I've been busy doing all sorts of things, one of them was buying myself a DSLR (Nikon D5000) and so I've been out taking pics and starting to get a grasp of what is possible :)

So here are some of my favourite pics:

Hope you enjoy them :)

Very nice!  You're drawn to the warmer light tones, yes?

Cheers, the tour bus one was actually shot from the hip! Hadn't got a clue how it would turn out but didn't have time to stop and bring the camera to my eye so just went 'click' hence the weird angle, but yeah it turned out quite nice in the end :)

Thanks guys, it's something I'm really getting into and I'm enjoying getting out and about to take them. It's interesting how I've started to look at things in a different way since I started experimenting :)

Cheers :) ...we also share the same name.... (insert xfiles/twilight zone themes here)

I have the kit 18-55 and a couple of weeks ago I got the 35mm F1.8 (which I love!!). Also picked up an old school 28-200 Vivitar lens, not the greatest lens but it's allowing me to experiment with the longer focal lengths, does need a lot of light to get a decent pic with though that lens.

Post processing can really enhance a pic, most of what I do is fairly subtle contrast/saturation/brightness adjustment and it can make a good pic great but it can't really make a bad pic good.
