I haveI have several ways to sharpen knives, only one or two of which is effective. Of the two I use the most, on takes a long time but can put a decent edge on. The other I usually use at work when I don't have a lot of time. It's quick and easy, but the edge is average. If you-know-what hits the fan, I'll use a Stanley knife (utility blade?). That has never happened though, because I always have more than enough sharp blades on hand, so I usually don't even have to use the sharpener (with the exception of when I sharpen my coworkers' Chinese knives).

For Christmas I got this new sharpener that I was skeptical about at first, but it works marvelously! Hair-shaving in five minutes- maximum!

By the way, it's one of those "As seen on TV" deals, but it actually works pretty well.

Probably not as good as a Sharpmaker, but it's still good enough. For me, at least.
