A couple of weekends ago the family & I went to our first Compass Cup. It is a annual event that has been running since the mid 70's. It is Australia's & quite possibly the worlds only cow racing event.
Some of the highlights include the 2 litre milk sprint, scull, sprint, scull, sprint & puke race

. Cow pat throwing(chocolate pat now days) , various other events that include milk & potential physical harm

.
The cup included my first engine blow up event. It involves a old dunnger engine having it's oil drained & then started up at full open throttle & held there till it pops. The victim was a Holden/GMH Commodore with a 3.8L/231CI V6, no great loss I reckon
The main attraction is the cow racing , which involves 2 heats followed by the final.I think the term Racing is a bit loose I reckon it is more of a cow chasing event

. The cows weigh around 600kg or half a ton

.
There is a vet on hand & representatives from the RSPCA too make sure the cows do not come too any harm. At 600kg & as strong as a ......... cow I was more worried about the riding teams , I think a fare amount of Dutch Courage is involved (alcohol)

MAD

.
I took the vids on my misses iPhone 4 not the greatest but better than I thought they would be.
