I like old SAKs, so to me my coolest is between an early 1940s 84mm Huntsman and this:

If you love the old design, but want a limited sort of piece...

If you are into Swiss fire arms...

If you are a geek...

Some very nice pictures.

I need some of those "semi precious stone" scaled saks.  I'd really like them in 84mm.

:ahhh

Pretty hard to find a SAK that's not cool.  This is going to be a good thread.
oh they exist

Hey guys- I see that this one has been announced already, but here are a couple of my pics:

Frankly I think these are excellent, and I can't wait to try them out.  Like the New Rangers, the shield is the lock release mechanism.  I'll be talking to Wenger CEO Peter Hug about them for a formal presentation tomorrow, and I have a few more pics now, but these are just to warm you up a bit.

There are three different models, but basically these have all been designed by Uli Steck, an extreme mountain climber.  You really have to see them in person to appreciate them- I think they are the most exciting thing I've seen all day!

That is funny... but Titanium, 85mm w/bitdriver in handle, 85mm one-handed locking blade... that is some pretty cool stuff.  I'm sure we'll be able to talk them into finding another blade for this frame if we come up with a cool name for it.

Here's to hoping I can get a couple below retail, and Neil can mod one. :drink:

I need some of those "semi precious stone" scaled saks.  I'd really like them in 84mm.

They were made through Victorinox by a jeweler in Florida; the run consisted of about twenty varieties, I think, all with different scales.  Because they were hand-crafted, the price on them were too high for most to pay, so they just sat there before a knife dealer got them... and until I swooped them up upon seeing them. :D  As far as I know, only one run was made (perhaps 100 knives total, was the suggestion of the dealer), so very few numbers actually exist; I have yet to see any of the missing pieces from that series.  IIRC, they were only made in the 58mm variety by that jeweler, though I have seen factory and custom 84mm and 91mm stone and horn and bone scaled pieces.

Hi,

I only have three SAKs at the moment, but more to come I am sure.

My new interest has been sparked by this one. That I recently acquired. It is a cross over item for me, Victorinox and Festool. II have a custom woodworking business and Festool is my favorite tool brand. I am in the US and this came out a couple years ago , but was never offered in the US.  Though it is probably a fairly typical promo item I think it is cool because it is actually done in Festools midnight blue tool color , not a standard color with the company logo simply added. It is a 91mm I am not sure which model off hand.

A Farmer would be very cool, but this one has a lot of "swell" to the stag inlays.  A three-layer SAK would be too thick w/these particular scales, but is just right for a two-layer.  They could just as easily be made without the swell, though.

Blue Farmer awesomeness (with scissors!)

Pink 58mm:  It's a shame it's not a three layer minichamp--never know when you're gonna need scissors. :pok:
