How to tell a swiss tool?
on: November 10, 2011, 09:24:05 PM
Are there date codes on swiss tools? I have a swiss tool, thats it, not rs or spirit. How do I tell how old it is? Its in kinda rough shape. Is it a hard to find version or should I send it back and have them send me a replacement? Thanks
If I remember correctly, wait, what was I saying?

Steve, there is a sticky on the top of this forum describing the variations depending on the tool setups and diferent plier heads. That could be of help to you.

Yup the plierhead style is the best way to tell about what year the tool is.

It appears to be a 98 model. The blades are rough and the tools are very hard to open. The pliers are ok but the wire cutter is in rough shape. I think I will send it in and see what I get back. Any opinions on that?

Same thing happened to me. I sent my older version swisstool in, and they sent me a brand new swiss tool back. This one is the newest version with the larger plier head, and I carry it everyday. :tu:

I couldn't be happier..
