111mm DAK's
on: March 10, 2011, 12:28:41 PM
I am finding it very hard to find any dutch 111mm army knives. I am looking for the following in Victorinox brand but will also consider other contractors (ultimatley want all contractors for 111mm DAK)

I really prefer new/Un-issued/in army issue packets but will consider anything

i need the dual pro plus the older 1993? version

1 - The DAK-2010 uses olive green nylon scales with an embossed Dutch logo, and replaces the corkscrew with a Phillips screwdriver. Information about this knife was actually released before the Dual Pro, it was the first Victorinox knife to feature 2 one-handed opening blades.

2 - DAK Model 1993: a version with olive green nylon scales with an embossed Dutch logo, no tweezers and toothpick.

Does Victorinox sell the DAK to the public like the GAK?

Anyone with contacts in the Dutch army ??:D
Thanks

Victorinox is the only contractor for the 111mm DAKs.

I have one 2010 model as a spare but I have decided to keep it, since I literally have dozens of potential buyers for that one :D

I am currently trying to get more 2010 DAKs but haven't succeeded yet.

I've seen a lot of used 1993 models for sale but those are usually in pretty bad shape.

OHH

Well i have seen another contactor but i cant remember the name. It was something like 'Van Z....????'

Please put my name on the wish list for 2010 DAK

For the 1993 version anything is better than nothing. I will aim high though for un-issued, you just never know whats out there in surplus. Last week i thought it would be impossible to find un-issued Vic 108mm GAK's but i found 6 the otherday.

Where do you see lots of used 1993 DAK's?

I am trying to collect military issue pocket knives from many countries as i can.

Cheers

Oh you're right of course, there are crappy quality 111mm knives made by Van Zwanenburg... really terrible DAKs!

I'll check out my local dealer soon, he sometimes has used DAKs for sale.
