Isn't that a Brookstone logo on the front?

Brookstone commissioned a number (don't know how many, but they are rarer than standard Mausers) of Mauser type models, and had Brookstone printed on the scale.  Technically it's not a Mauser, since only the ones made for Mauser are Mausers, but since it's the same configuration, we just call it that for convenience.

I have a Brookstone and it's nice to see them whenever they crop up!

Ok, I thought that was the Brookstone logo on it... never mind then! :p

Just for clarity sake though, the Mauser Mauser has "Mauser written on it, and printing on the clip point blade.  The Brookstone Mauser has no writing on the clip blade and says Brookstone on the scale.

I don't know what the production numbers were on the Brookstone variant, but I know it was significantly less than the 50,000 Mausers that were made.

The one I have is the only one I've ever seen in the flesh, and I've only seen a couple of others online.

It would seem that way.  Of course, I am embarrassed to say how little I got it for!

As for it being a user, well I was never a big fan of this configuration.  Too many blades, not enough other functions, plus I don't care for the weak tip of a clip point blade.

I feel the same way, I know a lot of people really rate the 108mm and I like them too, but they are a little light on features on what is quite a big tool :-\

I don't mind the light features, I just don't see the point of a second, weaker blade.

Having two large blades has an advantage for things like camping , one blade for food the other for everything else . Also I'm fond of two blades because if one breaks or goes blunt in the middle of something then theres always a spare .One of the reason I like the Swisstool so much .
One thing I've noticed is the awl is very long .Much longer then on normal SAKs .

True, I only like clip point's on big bowie's like the trailmaster, otherwise there far to fragile for my liking :)

I'n fact I broke the tip of my mauser using it to dig some aluninum out of my dads leg, ( of course me being a know it all teenager I heated it up until it glowed orange to steralise it ::))

Still not great pics, but better!  As you can see, this one was a well maintained user, although I won't use it, mostly because I don't care for the second blade.  I don't mind a second blade in general, and I would probably think better of it if it had two drop points, but a clip is pretty well worthless in my mind.
