Anyone Use A Maxpedition Barnacle For Pocket Carry?

Still experimenting with pocket carry options and I wondered if any member uses one of these, or are they a bit bulky?

They are well made and a nice size , if packed to the limit , they could be a tad bit bulky .

I love Maxpedition products and have more than my fair share, but the Barnacle and its siblings have a high size to volume ratio - or so it seems to me.  Big on the belt (or in your case pocket) .  for the amount of cargo room they provide.  For this size of carry, I prefer a cheapy camera case or similar from Walmart, etc.  You get a lot more volume for the size.

I agree, you should try a Case Logic camera bag. Great quality for the price. Here is one most like the barnacle, but IMO better. It has a belt loop on the back too. I have two of them and they held up great in daily EDC for over 2 years now.

I have an Anemone, which is basically the same product.

my opinion is: the way the pack accordions out makes me over pack it and needing to remove something for it to close. Also, it would not fit in my pocket, even empty, unless I wore cargo pants with big pockets.

Maybe the 3 x 5 would be something to look at?

Thanks for the replies. I think I will hang on for the MaxP micro organiser.

I agree with powernoodle too - they are fairly bulky and not very roomy.

The biggest wallet type thing I  will pocket carry is a Bill's Urban Wallet.
