Schrade/Taylors one piece tool
on: March 23, 2011, 01:32:47 AM
I noticed these one piece tools for sale recently , made by Schrade/Taylors. Not really up my pint of beer but I wonder if anyone has given one a go

Schrade under Taylors ownership has lead to exceedingly poor QC , products coming out under the Schrade name have been nothing like the pre Taylors days  :( :( :(. This one is made out of Titanium but how well is it made is the BIG QUESTION  . Another Taylors cash grab or a quality product

Here are the potential problems as I see it:

1.  It's made of titanium.  Not optimal for wrenches or knives.
2.  The alligator wrench looks like the gradations are fairly sloppy.
3.  Use of the prytip looks a bit precarious with the broad cutting hook right at your fingertips... :ahhh

Still, the concept is sound.

I would have thought in steel would be a better idea and allow for a cheaper tool but what do I know :)

Someone needs to get one and put it through its paces for us.
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

While I am not automatically against inexpensive or imported tools, I can't bring myself to buy anything that I know is associated with Taylor Brands LLC. What they have done to the Schrade brand is pure sacrilege.
